{{course.CourseDescription}}
Equip yourself with sophisticated tools for critical thinking, allowing you to tell the difference between valid forms of reasoning and invalid or fallacious arguments. Many arguments that seem persuasive can turn out, when studied closely, to be invalid. Logic can save you from being led astray by bad arguments and to help you construct sound arguments of your own.
The ability to differentiate between logical arguments and irrational claims is a valued skill across a range of vocational areas. It’s essential for the study of philosophy itself, but logic training is also a great complement to studies in law, education, science and business. Formal logic is also extremely useful in the IT, software engineering and technology industries. Study logic as part of a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Philosophy, a philosophy double-degree, or break new ground with postgraduate study.
